An icy wind splashes gusts of rain against the windows of the John Muir Women’s Health Center. Inside, 16 pregnant women lean against their husbands, partners, or, in Kristina Peters’ case, her mother, who flew in from Arizona to help her daughter deliver twins….
This could be any childbirth prep class in the past 40 years, but for one thing: When childbirth educator Candyce Warren asks how many are planning an anesthesia-free delivery, just one shy hand goes up.
I find it interesting that with the increased popularity of epidurals, one of the areas to suffer is childbirth education classes.
