Rookie Cop Helps Catch Baby

The drama that ensued was caught on the police radio, with Katic, just 18 months on the force, calling for medical help because “there’s a woman having a baby here.”
A little later he called in, “Can you tell them the baby’s coming right now?” and then, “Anybody here who can give me instructions on how to deliver a baby?”
The birth took about five minutes. The baby was born on the living room floor.
The baby boy came a week early. As for the infant’s delivery, the Mountie said the child’s grandma was “awesome.”
“I think the grandmother deserves all the credit here,” he said. “Grandma was definitely doing most of the work. Both of us were trying to figure out what to do with the umbilical cord.”

Got something to say?

What do you know. Yet another home birth attended by an untrained professional and nobody died a horrible bloody death. Yep, birth sure is dangerous.
The grandmother deserves all of the credit?! How about the woman who gave birth, or the baby who was born? Nope, they didn’t do a thing, it was only the cop and the grandma who deserve accolades. Sheesh.
